As an open-source project it is important for us to stay in touch with Bro’s user community. We welcome feedback and contributions of any kind, and encourage users to share their experiences.

Getting in Touch

Mailing List: The best way to get in touch with the Bro community is the Bro user mailing list. Feel free to ask questions, post your thoughts on Bro, and announce related work and projects that may be of interest to other Bro users. You can also browse the mailing list’s archive.
Blog: The Bro Blog collects news from the Bro World. Add your comments, and let us know if you have something suitable for posting there.
Twitter: Follow our Twitter account @Bro_IDS. When tweeting about Bro, make sure to use the #BroIDS tag.
IRC: Some Bro folks tend to hang out on Freenode’s IRC channel #bro-ids. You are welcome to join in.

Contributions

Bro Script Repository

If you have scripts or other tools that you want to make accessible to the Bro community, we’ll be happy to include them into our repository of contributed scripts. The best way to submit something is by opening a new tracker ticket with all relevant files attached.

Please note that we assume all contributed functionality to be subject to Bro’s standard BSD-style license.

A Pygments Plugin for Bro Script Code: Pygments is a popular syntax highlighter that already supports many languages. The plugin adds Bro scripts to the list.
OpenSSH Modified for Auditing: A version of OpenSSH designed for high security installations where it is desirable to audit user activity. It comes with a Bro interface that provides monitored information to Bro in real-time.
